Poor sleep

Night is when the skin does its repair work. Cut the night short often enough and the difference shows in the mirror before it shows anywhere else.

What is actually going on

During deep sleep, blood flow to the skin rises, collagen production peaks and the day’s damage is repaired. Miss those hours and cortisol stays high — which breaks collagen down, slows healing and feeds breakouts.

No product substitutes for the hours, and the honest routine is the boring one: consistent times, a cool dark room, screens down before bed. Skincare can meet the skin halfway — the barrier is more permeable at night, so what goes on before sleep works harder.

What helps at home

  • The same bedtime, even at weekends

  • Cool, dark, and no screens for the last half hour

  • Night cream onto damp skin, just before bed

Talk it through first

A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment. Tell us what you are seeing and we will suggest the right next step — even when that step is not a treatment.
