Hair loss

Hair loss has more possible causes than any other concern that walks through the door — and the right response depends entirely on which one is yours.

What is actually going on

Shedding after stress, illness or hormonal change usually rights itself within months. Tension from tight styles, heat and chemical processing damages the follicle mechanically. Pattern loss is gradual and runs in families. Each looks similar in the shower drain and needs a different answer.

Sudden or patchy loss belongs with your GP first — it can signal something that needs medical attention, and no clinic appointment should come before that conversation.

What helps at home

  • Loose styles, less heat, gentle handling

  • Note when it started and what changed around then — the most useful thing you can bring to any appointment

  • See your GP first for sudden or patchy loss

Talk it through first

A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment. Tell us what you are seeing and we will suggest the right next step — even when that step is not a treatment.
